Monday message, and MLK day

It This weeks Mormon message is about the importance of the scriptures, and how so many people sacrificed their lives to protect and translate them for the average man's use.
Also, since today is Martin Luther King day, I would like to share my recent trip to Washington DC. My grandparents came to visit over winter vacation and my family took a trip to DC. We rode the Marc train to Union station and walked over 6 mile that day. We went to the Natural history museum which was really cool.

We saw the hope diamond, which is really big. We also saw the ocean life exhibit and the geological hall. Then we ate at their overpriced cafeteria(their beans are horrible by the way) and walked farther in the freeeeeezing cold to the Wahington monument.
It is bigger in person than it looks to be on tv. Then we walked even farther past the world war 2 memorial to the Lincoln memorial.
You can see the reflecting pool, where everyone crowded around to hear Martin Luther King speak in 1963. A big happy birthday to him. He was so great, standing up for what he believed in just like all the people who defended the scriptures.
Anyway, take a look at the video, it is really interesting. Every week I am going to have a different topic and a Mormon message to set the weeks mood. This week I am going to try to read the scriptures more often, to show how grateful I am for all those who suffered to have them readily available for people like me to read, and I challenge you to read  and share in the comments your favorite scripture story that shows someone standing up for what they believe in.
